Quotes About Change — HBR Patel

Many of us have purchased the self-development book that we want to read and change for good.

Many of us might have purchased a gym membership to exercise and change for good.

Many of us may have hired a professional mentor for valuable support to improve and change for good.

Many of us may have taken the first step to change for good.

But, like the rest of the world does to “New Year Resolution’, we might do the same thing: abandon the change in the process.

It is easy to change in mind, it is easy to plan the change but the pain that the change demands are seldom endured by some. Many abandon the journey of change due to the transformation that it demands.

Reading seems easy when deciding to read. However, compare with binge-watching a favourite series, suddenly reading seems like lifting a heavyweight.

Change seems easy in the initial phase. However, many of us fail in the second change of implementation.

If we want to lose weight, the motivational posters might spark our imagination to exercise daily and lose the extra baggage of weight. However, the effort that it requires makes many of us content with the kilos of extra baggage of fat that we carry.

Sculpting out of the former self to a better self requires us to bear the sharp pain of a chisel. We have to untangle ourselves from the web of comfort that surrounds us and make us inapt to leave for good.

If we want to change for good, we must be ready to leave our comfort zone for good.

There will be some pain, however, the suffering is optional.

We might have to let go of binge-watching the favourite series for the sake of a self-help book.

We might have to let go of the taste and spicy foods in order to lose those kilos of unwanted baggage around the waist.

We might have to let go of the mindless scrolling of social media walls to utilize the time in some creative and constructive way.

We have to choose pain but discard suffering to change for a better self.

Otherwise, the world is full of mediocre people who choose the comfort inside their comfort zone.
