Dive in the Kathy’s Journey: Embracing Persistence in the Realm of Sanskrit
Kathy, a young European scholar, sat despondently by the banks of the Ganga River in Varanasi.
Her journey to learn Sanskrit, inspired by the profound words of Max Müller, seemed to be unraveling.
Müller had said, “If I were to look over the whole world to find out the country most richly endowed with all the wealth, power, and beauty that nature can bestow — in some parts a very paradise on earth — I should point to India.”
Yet, despite her excitement, Sanskrit proved to be an almost insurmountable challenge.
Kathy (voice heavy with frustration): “I came here to learn Sanskrit, drawn by Max Müller’s words about the richness of this land. But this language is incredibly complex. I feel like I’m failing and I’m considering going back home.”
As she looked out at the serene river, the weight of her decision pressing down on her, an elderly lady saint approached, her presence serene and wise.
