For one who is unattached to material nature, who is liberated, whose heart is situated in transcendence, who performs all actions in the spirit of sacrifice unto the Ultimate Personality, his actions are completely dissolved.

Bhagavad-Gita-Chp-4-Verse-23-Shloka-HBR-Patel

One who is desireless, free from all dualities and who performs every action as an act of Yagna or as an offering to the Supreme Bhagwan, such action destroys all the forms of Vasanas that bind that soul to the cycle of birth and death .

Whatever he does, he does as a sacrifice unto the Supreme Bhagwan. He never suffers attachment to the actions. Without any attachment to the material things, his mind is totally engrossed in the Supreme Bhagwan, and so the concept of ownership of that action is totally melted away and his every action becomes Yagna to please the Supreme Bhagwan.

Such actions not only take away the bondage of the current activities but also melts away the past karmic reactions that occurred by the actions performed with a sense of ownership. The bondage of centuries, the soul accumulates by taking birth in different life forms, is shredded to pieces when one decides to perform every action as a Yagna by giving up the ownership or attachment to the actions. Such an enlightened soul attains Moksha.

So, Bhagwan Shri Krishna concludes the last five shlokas with this shloka to enlighten us about the impact of performing every action as a Yagna. The essence of Karmayoga is to perform every action as a Yagna.
