Bhagavad-Gita-Chp-4-Verse-11 — Cover-HBR-Patel

ये यथा मां प्रपद्यन्ते तांस्तथैव भजाम्यहम् |
मम वर्त्मानुवर्तन्ते मनुष्या: पार्थ सर्वश: || 11||

In whatever manner one surrenders unto Me, I reward accordingly. Everyone follows my path in all respects, O son of Pṛthā.

Bhagavad-Gita-Chp-4-Verse-11 — Shloka-HBR-Patel

The words ‘Tathaiva bhajamy’ is essential to understanding the words of the Bhagwan Shri Krishna. To the non-believer, there might be a false notion that the Bhagwan does not do well for them as they do not believe in them. Bhagwan Shri Krishna rewards accordingly with no partiality. The Supreme Bhagwan rewards all in proportion accordingly to how one worships him. Whether one worships Him, direct or indirect, full of desires or free from desires, Bhagwan rewards them proportionately.

It is not the nature of the Supreme Bhagwan to ignore those who ignore or neglect him. Supreme Bhagwan never neglects anyone and never abandons anyone. Everyone is following his path, directly or indirectly. The difference is in the reward.

Even in the materialistic world, the rewards are based on action. We cannot ask for one kg gold bar as a reward for sweeping a floor for ten minutes. Rewards are based on the action and the above shloka points to two things everyone is acting on the path of the Supreme Bhagwan and Supreme Bhagwan rewards everyone based on that action.

Bhagwan Shri Krishna clarifies to the Arjun that all of us follow the path of the Supreme Bhagwan in our own way. Some want Moksha and they walk on that path and get the reward of Moksha in the end. Some worship or follow his path with desires and gains those desire as a reward. Supreme Bhagwan is impartial and rewards all with prejudice or hatred.
