Bhagwan Shri Krishna said: I instructed the imperishable science of uniting the individual consciousness with the ultimate consciousness unto the Sun God Vivasvan (Surya), who taught it to his own son Vaivasvata Manu, who told it to his son King Iksvaku.

Bhagavad-Gita-Chp-4-Verse-1 — -Shloka-HBR-Patel

Bhagwan Shri Krishna points to Arjuna that the knowledge that he is currently receiving is not merely created for the sake of motivating and engaging him(Arjuna) into the battlefield but this is eternal knowledge.

The Knowledge that Arjuna is receiving is imperishable and The teachings always existed. Bhagwan Shri Krishna gave this knowledge to Vivasvan, or Surya, Sun God, who imparted it to Manu, the original progenitor of humankind; Manu, in turn, taught it to Ikshvaku, the first king of the Solar dynasty.

Thus, Bhagwan Shri Krishna explains the parampara of this Knowledge. These teachings are imperishable as they always existed and can never be destroyed.
