One who restrains/controls the senses and organs of action, while continuing to dwell on sense objects in the mind, certainly deludes themselves and is known as a hypocrite.

Bhagavad-Gita-Chp-3-Verse-6-Shloka-HBR-Patel

Bhagwan Shri Krishna explains to Arjuna that there are also some people who are able to restrain or control their senses and organs of action but fail to control their mind.

They sit in meditation by restaining their organs of action but are unable to control their mind. Their mind dwells on the sense objects which can not be seen by others but is known to that person who sits in meditations.

The fool who by forcefully restraining the senses but fails to restrain his mind and is inwardly reflecting on the objects of the senses is considering as a hypocrite.

One may be able to restrain his eyes from seeing movies but while restraining his eyes physically, the mind of his might still be thinking about that movie and recreating the scene in his mind. Such people can physically restrain their tongue to eat tasteful delicacies but in their mind, they will be savoring such dishes. Such people are known as hypocrites. This type of renunciation is not proper.
