इन्द्रियाणि पराण्याहुरिन्द्रियेभ्य: परं मन: |
मनसस्तु परा बुद्धिर्यो बुद्धे: परतस्तु स: || 42||

It is said that the senses are superior but more than the senses, the mind is superior but more than the mind, the intelligence is superior and that [the Atma/the soul/the eternal essence/the individual consciousness] is even higher than the intelligence.

Bhagwan Shri Krishna explains to Arjuna the order starting from the physical body to the senses to the mind to the intellect to the Atma or soul. When the senses are high on the urge to seek pleasure and desires to enjoy the material pleasures, the mind can divert those urges as the mind is superior to the senses as explained by Bhagwan Shri Krishna.

Sometimes, the Kaama is so strong that the mind is also inclined to enjoy the sensory pleasures. It deters the individual from their true purpose of liberation, for which the Supreme Bhagwan gave this human or physical form to the soul. During that time…
