धूमेनाव्रियते वह्निर्यथादर्शो मलेन च |
यथोल्बेनावृतो गर्भस्तथा तेनेदमावृतम् || 38||

Just as a fire is covered by smoke, as a mirror by dust, and an embryo is covered by the womb, so this knowledge is covered by that desire.

The ultimate challenge that we face due to Kama or lust is that it conceals the common wisdom. It hinders our progress on the spiritual path.

The common knowledge of what is right or wrong that guides our behaviour on daily basis gets covered under the burden of desires and common sense becomes uncommon to us.

How does the kama obscure our pure consciousness? It conceals the wisdom within just like the three examples given by Bhagwan Shri Krishna in the above shlokas. Those three examples presented in the above shloka will help us understand how does the kama or lust engulfs our spiritual wisdom.
