Bhagwan Shri Krishna said: It is the desire which is born of contact with the material modes of passion which later transforms into anger. Know this lust to be insatiable, extremely sinful and the greatest enemy here in this world.

Bhagavad-Gita-Chp-3-Verse-37-Shloka-HBR-Patel

Bhagwan Shri Krishna answers the question of Arjuna about the force that pulls us to act on the desire. Arjuna asked that, Why do we give in to cravings and Bhagwan Shri Krishna explains the reason behind that in this shloka.

Bhagwan Shri Krishna said that the reason behind our weakness for cravings is the Kama or lust. The lust, that is born out of the Rajas Guna or the mode of passion pulls us towards the cravings. When an individual comes in contact with material pleasure, a desire is created to enjoy that pleasure.
