प्रकृतिं यान्ति भूतानि निग्रह: किं करिष्यति || 33||

Bhagwan Shri Krishna explains to Arjuna the reason behind many wise and intellectual people finding it difficult to walk on the path of the Karmayoga. The reason is simple and that is every living being is compelled to act based on their nature or Prakriti.

Our inner tendencies are fostered by the samskara or impressions from past life actions and those tendencies sometimes compel us to act against our will. Thus by suppressing the desires is like compressing a spring, sure to backfire at some point in time.

The individuals on the spiritual journey, unknown to their Prakriti, tries hard to suppress all of their desires or Vasana and focus on the spiritual aspect ahead. But, it…
