तत्त्ववित्तु महाबाहो गुणकर्मविभागयो: |
गुणा गुणेषु वर्तन्त इति मत्वा न सज्जते || 28||

People who are deluded by the Prakriti of the guṇas become attached to the results of their actions. But the wise who understand these truths should not disturb such unintelligent people who are of limited knowledge.

Bhagavad-Gita-Chp-3-Verse-29-Shloka-HBR-Patel

Bhagwan Shri Krishna explains to Arjuna that the unintelligent people fail to identify the true nature of the three Gunas. And due to that, they attach themselves to the results of the action resulting in the attachment that prevents the liberation of the soul, the eternal and true identity.

Under the darkness of ignorance, unintelligent people often consider themselves as the doer of the action. This ego germinating from the ‘doership’ often leads to the attachment to the results of the action. The ‘I’ takes control and they misplace the eternal identity to the physical form. This leads to misery.
