Just as an ignorant person perform duties with attachment to the results, O Bharata, so should the wise perform an action without attachment, for the sake of leading people on the right path.
Bhagwan Shri Krishna explains to the Arjuna the importance of performing an action without any attachments to the results.
Many like me are attached to the outcome of their actions.
Ignorance motivates the action due to the attachments to the fruits of that action.
Ignorant people perform actions that are prescribed in the Vedic Scripture or the duties assigned to them just for the sake of gaining material pleasures.
The outcome motivates the action.
