If I cease to perform the prescribed actions, the inhabitants of all the worlds would be ruined. I would also be the cause of creating an unvirtuous population, and I would thereby destroy all these living entities.

Bhagavad-Gita-Chp-3-Verse-24-Shloka-HBR-Patel

Bhagwan Shri Krishna paints a picture of a world where he cease to perform all of his prescribed activities. And that picture is not a delight to eyes.

Every one present on this earth at any moment of time have their fair share of actions to be performed. The world operates in such a way that everyone has to perform their action to ensure the smoothness. Bhagwan Shri Krishna needs not to perform any action as he is the supreme being but to ensure that everyone performs their action, he himself engages in action.

We know that the world follows their leaders and if the leader is himself inactive, how can he manage to motivate others to perform action. To motivate others, leaders has to act rather than command.

Bhagwan Shri Krishna does the same. He inspires rather than commands. He inspires Arjuna to perform his actions as a Kshatriya.

Without perform any actions, the world will be ruined. So no matter how insignificant the task or how unpleasant it shall be, we should perform it selflessly and without any attachment.
