एवं प्रवर्तितं चक्रं नानुवर्तयतीह य: |
अघायुरिन्द्रियारामो मोघं पार्थ स जीवति || 16||

O Partha, those individuals who do not accept their responsibilities in this cycle of sacrifice prescribed and established in the Vedic Scripture leads a life of sin, for that individual living their life captivated by the sense gratification lives his life in vain.

Bhagwan Shri Krishna explained to Arjuna in the previous Shlokas about the sacrificial cycle of human life, right from its birth to death. How one Yajna/Sacrificial Action becomes the reason for our existence and sustenance. The human body relies heavily on food for its existence and food relies on rain. Rain relies on our sacrificial actions and our sacrificial action depends on us and we depend on the food. This cycle continues and helps in sustaining the world like it is.
