At the beginning of the creation, Brahma created humanity as a result of the performance of Yagna. He said: By the performance of this Yagna may you all prosper and let this (Yagna) bestow all that you wish to achieve.

Bhagavad-Gita-Chp-3-Verse-10-Shloka-HBR-Patel

Bhagwan Shri Krishna now proves that one who performs the action is far more superior than those who refuse to indulge in performing any actions by giving the reference of Brahmaji’s word. Since time immemorial or the beginning of the creation, Yagna is of the essence to prosper and live the life we desire.

Brahmaji created us with the Yagna and blessed us all that those who perform Yagna (Selfless Actions) in the spirit of worship to the Bhagwan will flourish and prosper. Those who perform actions by sacrificing the rewards for the action along with the attachment to the result will attain Kaamadhenu, the mythological cow that grants any wish asked of her, in a sense that we will be bestowed all that we wish to achieve.

So, one must perform selfless action without any attachment to the rewards.
