न हि प्रपश्यामि ममापनुद्याद्
यच्छोकमुच्छोषणमिन्द्रियाणाम् |
अवाप्य भूमावसपत्नमृद्धं
राज्यं सुराणामपि चाधिपत्यम् || 8||

Even if I should obtain prosperity and unrivaled kingdom on the earth, or even sovereignty over the gods, I do not see that which can dispel the grief of mine that is drying up my senses.

Arjun now highlights the significant problem that all of us face in their materialistic world: Ignorance. We know that there is something wrong but out mortal senses and worldly knowledge fails to identify it. We need a higher power or spiritual guidance to identify and overcome the hurdles that we face in this journey called Life.

Arjun knew that his knowledge and his skills weren’t apt to uplift him from this situation and expel all the problems that were drying up his senses.
