आपूर्यमाणमचलप्रतिष्ठं
समुद्रमाप: प्रविशन्ति यद्वत् |
तद्वत्कामा यं प्रविशन्ति सर्वे
स शान्तिमाप्नोति न कामकामी || 70||

As the ocean which filled from all sides with water merging into it, remains undisturbed. So does that (tranquil) individual attain peace in whom all desires enter, but not the “desirer of desires”.

Bhagwan Shri Krishna provided another example of an ocean to highlight the point that how does a person remains unaffected by the onslaught desired who have attained the ultimate truth.

Just like the ocean remains undisturbed by the constant and turbulent flow of water from the river merging it. However, turbulent flow of the river merging into the sea, the sea itself remains calm and unaffected by the chaos.

Similarly, the person who has attained the state of equanimity never loses the calmness of mind even amidst the sensory pleasures. To perform the…
