Bhagwan Shri Krishna explains to Arjuna that the person who remains unattached under all conditions and remains unaffected by emotions that overcomes the common human being i.e. joy in gain, sorrow in loss, and other such common emotions.

That individual is established in perfect knowledge as they remain unattached and perform their action-oriented in the direction of their goal.

They perform an action without any attachment to the outcome and thus gain or lose, favor or disfavor, never affect their emotional state. They remain calm in every situation and he is not moved by criticism or elated by praise. That person remains steady in all scenarios.

They have gained emotional maturity and they remain unaffected by the external conditions. They have said to attain a state of equanimity.
