दूरेण ह्यवरं कर्म बुद्धियोगाद्धनञ्जय |
बुद्धौ शरणमन्विच्छ कृपणा: फलहेतव: || 49||

O Arjuna, discard reward-seeking actions that are certainly inferior and seek refuge in divine knowledge and insight in uniting the individual consciousness with the Ultimate Consciousness by this spiritual intelligence. Those impelled by fruitive results are miserable.

Bhagavad-Gita-Chp-2-Verse-49-Shloka-HBR-Patel

Shri Krishna Bhagwan once again highlights to Arjuna that one should give away the tendency to work just for the sake of enjoying the desired fruits. That type of attitude is not worth keeping as it is an inferior tendency.

One must know that the actions that are inspired by the desire for fruitful results and rewards are miserable.

One must seek refuge in the divine wisdom which guides us to perform Action that helps our consciousness attain the communion with the Ultimate Consciousness are far superior or help us achieve the state of equanimity. That is far superior to the action performed with a desire for reward.

Shri Krishna Bhagwan says that the individual whose every action is driven by the desires to attain the rewards is miserly because their pursuit never ends as their desires never get fulfilled.

There is always one more material object to attain and that causes them to worry.

Arjuna should shed away that worry as he is thinking of the fruit of his actions and perform his Swadharma.
