त्रैगुण्यविषया वेदा निस्त्रैगुण्यो भवार्जुन |
निर्द्वन्द्वो नित्यसत्त्वस्थो निर्योगक्षेम आत्मवान् || 45||

The Vedas describe the three Gunas of material nature. O Arjuna. Be transcendental to all of them. Free yourself from dualities, and from the conceptions of acquisition and preservation, and be established in the Self.

The three Gunas highlighted in this verse by Bhagwan Shri Krishna are sattva (mode of goodness), rajas (mode of passion), and tamas (mode of ignorance). These gunas vary in proportion in ourselves at any given point of time. Our actions and emotion are influenced by these three Gunas. And these three gunas are influenced by our karmas and sanskaras. The one who is after the material gain influenced by sometimes Raja guna and sometimes by Tama guna are attracted by the words of the Vedas that highlights the rituals for the material gains.
