यामिमां पुष्पितां वाचं प्रवदन्त्यविपश्चित: |
वेदवादरता: पार्थ नान्यदस्तीति वादिन: || 42||
कामात्मान: स्वर्गपरा जन्मकर्मफलप्रदाम् |
क्रियाविशेषबहुलां भोगैश्वर्यगतिं प्रति || 43||

O Arjuna, men of limited understanding presume the speculative interpretation of the Vedas saying that there is nothing other than this. Those who harbor lascivious desires, and hold the lush heavenly world as their ultimate goal, glorify only the statements in the Vedas which are pleasing to their senses. They perform numerous ostentatious rituals for elevation to heavenly planets, resultant good birth, power, and so forth that ensures a sense of enjoyment and worldly pleasures.
