एषा तेऽभिहिता साङ्ख्ये
बुद्धिर्योगे त्विमां शृणु |
बुद्ध्या युक्तो यया पार्थ
कर्मबन्धं प्रहास्यसि || 39||

O Parth, I have explained to you Sānkhya Yoga, the spiritual Intelligence regarding the nature of the soul. Now listen, as I reveal Buddhi Yoga, the discipline of the action. Having equipped yourself with this understanding, you will release yourself from the bondage of reactions from actions.

Bhagwan Shri Krishna to motivate Arjuna explains to him the true nature of the soul. Arjuna is grief-stricken under the influence of the Maya due to attachment with his friends and families on the other side of the battlefield. Arjuna is reluctant to slay them and thus refuses to fight the war.

Bhagwan Shri Krishna explains to Arjuna the true nature of the soul and inspires him to fight the war. Bhagwan Shri Krishna thus says that I have explained to you Sānkhya Yoga, the spiritual Intelligence
