सुखदु:खे समे कृत्वा लाभालाभौ जयाजयौ |
ततो युद्धाय युज्यस्व नैवं पापमवाप्स्यसि || 38||

Being equipoised in happiness and sorrow, gain or loss, victory or defeat; thereafter prepare for battle and by doing so, you will not incur sinful reaction.

Bhagavad-Gita-Chp-2-Verse-38-Shloka-HBR-Patel

This shloka points us to the essential state to live a blissful life. The state of equanimity where we are unaffected by joy, sorrow, victory, defeat, gain, and loss. This might be one of the difficult states to achieve but there are many saints that have achieved this state of equanimity.

The divine soul who remains equipoised gains absolute freedom from any delight or gloom. Arjuna should try to cultivate equanimity and fight this war without worrying about the outcome of the battle i.e. attaining heaven or hell due to his actions.
