श्रीभगवानुवाच |
अशोच्यानन्वशोचस्त्वं प्रज्ञावादांश्च भाषसे |
गतासूनगतासूंश्च नानुशोचन्ति पण्डिता: || 11||

Shri Bhagwan (Bhagwan Shri Krishna) said: you are mourning for that which is not worthy of grief, yet seemingly speaking words of wisdom. The wise lament neither for the departed (the dead) nor for those who have not yet departed (the living).

And thus the most effective sermon begins. The wisdom that would not be limited to only Arjuna but it will help generations to come who seek guidance to fulfill their duties.

Bhagwan Shri Krishna begins by highlighting the fact that what Arjuna was considering as the true wisdom and was pre-judging his actions, was flawed. His understanding was pretty far from the ultimate truth and Bhagwan Shri Krishna begins by highlighting that same fact without any sugarcoating.
