भीष्मद्रोणप्रमुखत: सर्वेषां च महीक्षिताम् |
उवाच पार्थ पश्यैतान्समवेतान्कुरूनिति || 25||

In the presence of Bhishma, Dronacharya, and all of the Kings, Lord Krishna said: O Partha (Arjuna), behold all these members of the Kuru dynasty gathered here.

Bhagavad-Gita-Chp-1-Verse-25 — Cover-HBR-Patel

Shri Krishna obeys the words of the Arjuna & places the chariot near the Kauravas. Arjuna wants to see the faces of the warriors ready to battle with him and Shri Krishna complies with that.

Shri Krishna positions the chariot near the Bhishma and other prominent personalities that were near dear to Arjuna. By doing this, Shir Krishna tests the will of the Arjuna to fight in this battle.

Shri Krishna addresses Arjuna as the Partha which means son of Pritha, another name for his mother Kunti. Shri Krishna further addresses the Kauravas as the Kurus rather than addressing them as the “sons of Dhritarashtra”.

By doing this, Shri Krishna further tests the will of the Arjuna to fight with the family for a just cause. Shri Krishna chooses to highlight the connection that Arjun & Kauravas: the Kuru Dynasty. Both Kauravas and Pandavas were all decedents of the great King Kuru and Shri Krishna highlights to test whether Arjun will fight with them.

The best thing that happens in this shloka is that it contains the first words spoked by Shri Krishna in the Gita. The words were quite clever and chosen wisely to serve a particular purpose: to test the will of Arjuna to fight his near and dear ones.
