Arjuna said: O Achyuta(infallible one, one of the names of Bhagwan Vishnu) please take my chariot to the middle of both armies, so that I may look upon those warriors arrayed for battle with whom I have to fight in this great combat.
Arjuna addresses Bhagwan Shri Krishna with “Achyuta” which appears as the 100th and 318th names in the Vishnu Sahasranama.
100th name - Achyutaḥ: One who never lost and will never lose his inherent nature and powers.
318th name — Acyutaḥ: One who is without the six transformations beginning with birth.
And by uttering this name, Arjuna begins the conversation that will guide him and many others in understanding and performing the duties entrusted to them.
Arjuna is portrayed as a warrior who is in control of the situation and wants to access the situation and look at the warriors who are ready to fight with him in the war.
Arjuna gave instructions to Shri Krishna to place the chariot in the middle of the battlefield so that he can see which one of his families and friends have decided to fight against him in this battle.
Many argue that after seeing those family members on the other side, a seed of affection might have germinated that would ultimately force Ajuna to question others and his will to fight in this battle.
That argument might be negated with the words uttered by Arjuna in this shloka.: “…so that I may look upon those warriors arrayed for battle with whom I have to fight in this great combat.”
